We were delighted to get through to the final three hotels in the country for the 'best breakfast' and also the 'best service' in the LateRooms.com Best Kept Secret Awards 2013.
New Banqueting Bar
It is now possible to enjoy the pleasures of a pint under the shadow of Bell Harry, as the Lodge has just welcomed the installation of a new banqueting bar in the conference centre.
The welcome new addition reflects the change in use of the events space, since its opening in 2001. As well as still hosting a large number of church and commercial conferences, seminars and lectures, the Lodge has become the prime banqueting venue in the City centre in recent years.
Given the level of events business, we feel the bar will enhance our excellent venue and improve guests’ dining experience. In keeping with our aim to use local suppliers, Shepherd Neame have provided all draught beer equipment and of course, we will be stocking their beers. We continue to use Manor Wines based in Bridge for all our wine supply.
New Biscuit Supplier
We are delighted to be working with Bonnie Shortie and are now supplying their delicious 'Produced in Kent' biscuits to our hotel and conference guests.
New Kentish Breakfast
It’s imperative that guests receive the highest standard of food and service during the most important meal of the day, ‘Breakfast’.
At the beginning of April the Cathedral Lodge stopped offering their buffet style English breakfast and began taking individual orders at the table for the Chef to cook to order. Helen Stilwell, who recently joined us as Breakfast Supervisor has been working extremely hard to deliver this improved breakfast standard.
In addition to our hot breakfast, we extended our Continental breakfast offering with an increased focus on Kentish produce, to further drive an enhanced guest experience.
