The Queen Visits Canterbury Cathedral Lodge

02 Apr 2015

On Thursday 26th March 2015 we were honoured to cater for Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh when they visited the Cathedral for a brief Service Thanksgiving, and the unveiling of statues of The Queen and Prince Philip on the West front of the Cathedral, adjacent to the Great West door. Sam Gallaway, Head Chef and Peter Bucan, Catering Manager and their teams had the great honour of serving lunch to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and then after the service and unveiling of statues served afternoon tea for around 200 guests

Richard Moppett, General Manager said “Throughout both events, we followed the Lodge and Cathedral’s ethos of using local suppliers wherever possible, to represent the best of Kent”.

Staff and volunteers, and members of their families, turned out in force to greet the Royal couple. The sun shone and everyone enjoyed a happy and festive occasion.
