Special Events at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge

A belated thank you for the wonderful day spent at the cathedral on Monday, learning about and seeing the gardens. It was all very interesting and so well planned. Lunch was delicious too. Tom was such an enthusiastic speaker, with lots of knowledge. Jane (June 2022)

We’ve just returned home from a wonderful stay at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge and we really can’t put into words what an amazing time we had. From the minute we checked in, every member of staff was so friendly, with a cheery hello in the corridor to impeccable service at dinner. The dinner was absolutely astounding, please thank the chef and kitchen staff on our behalf – the food was divine. Not just a fabulous hotel in beautiful surroundings, but the staff really made the whole stay outstanding. We shall definitely recommend to all our friends, and shall also return for another visit. Thank you so much for the brilliant Mothers Day lunch yesterday. My whole party were absolutely overwhelmed by the food and service, you should be very proud of your staff - the whole experience was relaxing whilst being uplifting. A perfect compliment to four mothers and four generations of a family brought together for a wonderful celebration. Regards Mr Shaw

The Cathedral Lodge provided a dinner of excellent quality to the international set of scientists that I needed to cater for. I was keen to showcase the very best of Canterbury, and the Lodge delivered. The banqueting room was elegant, spacious and comfortable; the various complex dietary requirements of my guests were well catered for; and the staff were very helpful through the booking process. On the night I was able to relax, enjoy the meal and discuss my work with my colleagues. Mike  

Just to let you know, I thoroughly enjoyed the Stonemason's tour. Please could you let the Stonemason know that I thought the talk he gave was excellent - sorry, I can't remember his name. It was so interesting to hear what they are doing on the window, and learn about all the work that goes into it. It was inspiring and impressive to see the great skill of the stonemason team. Incredible how they carve such smooth shapes by hand! And great to see the young apprentices learning the ancient skills. Fantastic! Now when I go past the Cathedral I will understand more about its history, so a big thank you to you and the Stonemason's for putting the tour on. Ann  

Thank you and all your colleagues for the lovely tea afternoon that we had to celebrate Arthur’s Baptism yesterday. It was, as with everything that you do, superbly well-organised and the members of staff on duty were charming and helpful. On Friday, we enjoyed the most amazing evening. The feedback, both oral & written from many many guests has been just outstanding. The food was truly exceptional, the quality of service, front of house was outstanding, it was like clockwork with military precision. No one person can claim the credit for this, however, The Cathedral team, to include yourself, Peter, Yuri & Poppy plus all of the team who were not visible on the night who looked after us so well on Friday were SIMPLY AMAZING. Please pass on my thanks to absolutely everyone involved. I was reflecting over the weekend about what would I have done differently in regard to the whole evening, the simple answer to this question was, NOTHING AT ALL So, a massive thanks to you all.

Everything was excellent! The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic especially when the DJ was late. I am delighted with the service you all gave and would happily recommend the Canterbury Lodge to my friends and colleagues. Thank you for making my Birthday wonderful and perfect! “To my knowledge we have never had such a happy group of volunteers. The Venue was perfect for them, those that went on the tour were very enthusiastic and in need of the lovely refreshments that were ready for them.  All remarked on how helpful the staff was and how smooth the day went for them. For some of course, it was a long day but without exception they all enjoyed themselves and there were plenty of smiling faces all round.
