Holy Week Retreat: The People of the Passion – Wednesday 1st – Sunday 5th April 2026

Both Canterbury Cathedral and Canterbury Cathedral Lodge have been working together and are pleased to announce that we will be offering this specialised package during Holy Week, running from Wednesday 1st – Sunday 5th April. This package will give guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the experience of Holy Week by joining Clergy members throughout this retreat and enjoy Bible studies and reflective talks with Canon Emma Pennington.

Holy Week Retreat 2026: People of the Passion

This retreat is £150 per person, which includes a full programme of services and worship, and special activities with our clergy, as well as several refreshments, and a sandwich and soup lunch in the Refectory Restaurant on Saturday 4th April. Guests are invited to attend as much or as little of the retreat as they wish.

Easter Sunday lunch is available in the Refectory Restaurant on Sunday 5th April. This is a 3-course À la Carte lunch, which is £42.50 per person, and allows retreat guests the option of booking. Tables are available between 13:00-15:30, and can be booked either with reception when booking your place on the retreat, or with the Lodge events team at a later stage (subject to availability). Full prepayment will be taken at the time of booking for Easter lunch.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available during this time – stay at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge during Holy Week in a Double or Twin room, with double occupancy rates of £160, or £150 for single occupancy, per night.

All rates come inclusive of continental and cooked Kentish breakfast, as well as complimentary tickets to visit the Cathedral during visiting hours, throughout your stay.

To book, we require the first night’s stay as a deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due during your stay. In the event of cancellation, accommodation bookings are fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to check-in.

We have a very limited number of onsite parking spaces, which must be prebooked on a first-come-first-serve basis. Onsite parking is £10 per night. Should we be unable to accommodate you onsite parking, Council car parking vouchers can be set up with Reception upon arrival, which are £13.50 per 24 hours. This voucher is valid in 10 car parks across the city, all within walking distance of the Cathedral Precincts.

Places on the retreat are extremely limited. For further information and to book, please contact Canterbury Cathedral Lodge Reception either by email or telephone. If you already have a reservation with us over this period, you are able to cancel that free of charge to rebook as part of the package; please contact Reception to do so.

Should you need to cancel your place on the retreat, or to Easter Sunday lunch, a refund can only be issued if we are able to resell the places.
